Protect Refugees in Limbo
Regular price $1.00
Dear {Recipient},
I urge you to do all you can to get the Trump administration to revise its guidance on implementation of the refugee ban – so that people fleeing violence can seek safety here.
Thousands of refugees are in peril because of recent developments. On June 26, the Supreme Court ruled that refugee admissions should continue in cases where refugees can demonstrate a “bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.”
However, on June 29, the Trump administration issued guidance stating that refugee agencies – the organizations that work with the U.S. government to resettle refugees – do not qualify as an “entity.” That means 26,000 refugees already in the pipeline for resettlement may now be stranded.
This does not make sense. Refugee agencies work for months and even years – and with the U.S. government – to prepare for a refugee’s arrival. That should count as a “bona fide relationship.”
Refugees are not a threat. They’re fleeing horrific violence, trying to rebuild their lives. They want the same safety and opportunities that any of us would want if we were in their shoes.
I urge you to intervene with the Trump administration now, before it’s too late.
Sincerely,
{Customer Name}
