I am writing as your constituent to ask you to oppose the so-called Regulatory Accountability Act. The Act would fundamentally alter the way regulations and policy statements are developed, issued, and litigated.
The bill would add endless new red tape to effectively paralyze federal agencies: burdensome trial-type hearings, judges deciding the science rather than scientists, and political meddling by the White House to stall health and safety measure on an unprecedented scale. In addition, agencies would have to prioritize corporate profits over benefits for everyday Americans.
Please protect safe food, clean water, and consumer protections by opposing the RAA.
